We have the machinery to assemble steel structures of any size, from light structures of 2 tons to heavy structures of 150 tons. The heavier the weight, the more economical the unit price becomes, as steel structures are quoted by the kilogram.
And how are steel structures quoted?
- First, the weight of the structure is determined by adding the weight of all its beams and plates. For example, 60 tons.
- Then, it’s multiplied by a unit price determined by the market. For example, $85 pesos per kilogram.
- $85 x 60,000 kg (60 tons) = $5,100,000
That way, we can estimate an approximate cost of assembling a steel structure, including the material (beams) and consumables (welding). The example provided is for square and straightforward structures such as shopping plazas and warehouses, where there isn’t much variation in the process. However, for buildings or industrial warehouses, the cost will always be higher because there are more variations in the type of work and welding required.
